God's Timing Will be Perfect

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive." - Jeremiah 29: 11-14

I sit here and my heart is sad... We just found out that there will be a delay in processing adoptions in the girls' country. The government is going to restructure and reorganize their adoption system for a while. Not real sure how long that while will take. Maybe a few months. I hope it's less. I sit here wishing the paperwork processes weren't so meticulously tedious, and that the government bureaucracies weren't so painfully slow some days. But it is what it is. We knew the delay was a likely, future possibility, but now it's finally planned. There is no way we can get everything we need to submit before the delay starts.

And hundreds of children in the system will continue to wait. Many on borrowed time. Some with little or no time left.

So we, too, will wait. We will put our hope and trust in the Lord, the One who made the Heavens and the Earth. The One who made each of us. He's the One who loves our girls more than we ever could. He's the One who PROMISES to give all of us a future and a hope. He's the One Who PROMISES to deliver Shawna and Lindsay from their captivity and to bring them home. We will be standing in the gap to seek the Lord and call on Him. We will pray to Him and search Him out, with all our hearts. And He PROMISES to be found and to listen to our hearts as we pray for our girls.

We will wait, but not sit idly on our hands. There are many prayers still to be prayed. Please pray with us. There is some paperwork that we can still complete. Some paperwork will have to wait. There is still fundraising that we can do. But, most of all, we will wait for His perfect timing and His perfect plan. I don't know all the details, but I just know that He's already got it all figured out. And it's going to be PERFECT!

Sleep tight my little angels. I'm asking Jesus to keep you safe. It may take us a little longer to get there, but we won't give up.

"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
         That I would see the goodness of the LORD
         In the land of the living.
 Wait on the LORD;
         Be of good courage,
         And He shall strengthen your heart;
         Wait, I say, on the LORD!"
- Psalm 27: 13-14

  1. I have been praying for your two little angels, and I will continue to do so, until they are home with you.

  2. Carrie! It will work out in His perfect timing. Remember you have extra time to fundraise without having to stress too much over paper work! Prayers!

  3. Dear Carrie,

    I recently learned through the DSACT yahoo group that your family is adopting two little angels through RR. This is so exciting! So, I hopped on over to RR to see which little lovies now have their forever families and discovered you yet again. I have been following both Kirill and Carrington's stories as well. I also live in NW Austin. Please, let me know if you need any help with fundraising and whatnot.

    This government adoption shutdown has affected so many of my friends who are adopting from EE. Keep the faith and do not give up. I wish that you didn't have to wait so long. Get as much paperwork done as possible in the meantime. Like I said, I know of many families in a similar boat as you--you might even know of them already. I send out a FB friend request and would be more than happy to connect them to you.
